An experimental project conducted by the United States Navy went in another direction when one of its capsules was transported back into time. The Navy's project was an experiment in the use of quickly transportable units that could be used to defend locations coming under attack such as embassies, temporary military bases and airstrips around the world. These capsules were made to create an electrical force with the idea of confusing the trajectory of incoming radio controlled missiles. Each capsule was set up for a crew of three, who would be able to monitor incoming missiles and adjust the strength and frequency of the electrical field.
Seeing the potential of having a time capsule which could be used to change the outcome of traumatic events in our past such as Pearl Harbor or Nine-Eleven, the experiment was reclassified and placed under the command of a highly sensitive and secretive investigative unit at the Pentagon which pursued the development of unorthodox weapons.
One of the unexplained characteristics of this capsule was it only went to one location and one time period, a closed mine shaft in New Mexico a few years after the Civil War. While scientist tried to determine the reason why only one of the many capsules produced traveled to the past; the Pentagon continued with a program of collecting data, putting together a manual on time travel and training someone to make the journey back to that time period and live among the inhabitants.
What was to be an unobtrusive journey to the past for training purposes changed when Sheriff Warren Price was killed, effecting people from the Nineteen and Twenty-first Centuries.
Time Capsule Sheriff Warren Price RIP edition by PA Amancio Literature Fiction eBooks
Thi is a somewhat creative and interesting SF time travel story, but there are lots of problems on every page with poor grammar, poor and clumsy choice of words. The story is saved simply ty the creativity of the tale and the plot elements, but it is somewhat painful to read due to the grammar and writing problems.Product details

Time Capsule Sheriff Warren Price RIP edition by PA Amancio Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Was going to give it 4 stars based on other reviews (of other books) because of editing, minor mistakes, etc. yet this book was such fun to read. Hey, its not a historical novel and yes, there are some problems w/respect to the science which i appreciate, but sometimes you just want to eat the entire bag of chips...actually cheaper...if you like time travel stories read it. Nice story, good characters - people you cared about. Would love to see a sequel.
great plot great characters
I liked this book. It was an interesting concept, reasonably well written. I liked the protagonist (empathized with him, etc); I particularly like the Marshall - a straight-forward, do-the-right-thing kind of guy. The plot was original (given the time travel setting). The dialogue was a little "stylized" in laces, i.e. - kind of direct and rigid, almost like a policeman writes a report. But overall a good story.
What started out as a journey to the past for training purposes, changes when a sheriff is accidentally killed by weapons that don't exist for another century. The shooting sets off a chain of events affecting people in both the 19th and 21th centuries.
The Special Operations branch of the military chose 26 year old Jason Brady for a classified mission. Brady would go back in time as Daniel Taylor, a gunsmith, to collect data about the time period. When Daniel meets Grace Stevenson, he is torn between the mission and his love for a woman of a different time.
Unique story line - a must read.
ok
Don't waste your time on this one. Many misspellings and 8th grade writing style ruined what could have been a good story.
Plot holes were just rolled past as if the reader wouldn't notice, along with things miraculously coming out ok on the end.
I’ve read many Time Travel stories. This one was fairly enjoyable in spite of the annoyingly simplistic dialog. At first I thought I had downloaded a book that was geared towards a much younger audience. Maybe it was. Other than that, the premise and storyline were good enough to keep me interested to the end. This book turned out to be vastly better than the sequel, “Backward Glance”, which is basically the same story with some different characters.
Thi is a somewhat creative and interesting SF time travel story, but there are lots of problems on every page with poor grammar, poor and clumsy choice of words. The story is saved simply ty the creativity of the tale and the plot elements, but it is somewhat painful to read due to the grammar and writing problems.
